Numeracy

Continuing on with our directions, P4/5 and were programming Beebot through the Mazes. Our next step is to design our own maze to programme Beebot to travel through.

We have been looking at grid references and directions this term. We have studied the 8 point compass, clockwise and anti-clockwise directions as well as turing through angles. We have looked at grid references on Pirate maps, finding the location and also writing our own grid references.

Today we were right angle investigators. We looked around the classroom using our right angle finder. We know that squares and rectangles contain 4 right angles each.

This week we have been invetigating 2D and 3D shapes. We examined their properties and we can can tell the difference between prisms and pyramids! We had great fun working together this week!

Over the past week we have been looking at money. We have added together items and found the change. We even had fun being the shoop keeping, finding the total and giving change. (We also had to check that we were given the correct change!!

It's that Time of the school year when we look at time!! We made our own clock faces to help us understand - o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. We also used the clock face to help us with minutes past the hour and duration of time. Please keep praciticing the time boys and girls

Today we were adding mentally two 2-digit numbers, using a number line to help us.

We have started off the school year looking at tens and units (P4) and Hundreds Tens and Units (P5). We used the equipment to see how numbers are made up.
