Welcome to Primary 2
Mrs S Quinn & Mrs McCann
Our PE days are Monday & Wednesday.
Please remember to send in 1 item of healthy snack with your child each day. Alternatively fruit is sold in school for 25p each morning.
Golden Time is on Friday.
We had a fantastic time on our Summer trip to Streamvale Farm.
Huge Congratulations to our first ever Gold Mathletics recipient! We are all very proud of the hard work he put in to achieve this!
Teddy Bears' Picnic
Our Bear topic concluded with a Teddy Bears' Picnic. The children organised the whole event; food, decorations, music etc. Lots of fun was had by all, especially Buttons the Bear :)
Primary 2 have been busy looking after and watering the plants around the school
We all helped Mrs Quinn and Mrs McCann to make porridge. We got to choose toppings to put on top: banana, strawberry, honey, chocolate. As you might have guessed, strawberry and chocolate sauce were most popular!! Yummy!!
Mathletics Certificate winners.
Congratulations to all our Mathletics winners. Remember 1000 points each week for a bronze certificate. 5 Bronze = silver
Who owns Teddy?
P2 found a Teddy Bear hiding in their cave. They made posters and displayed them around school to help return him to his owner. Thankfully Mrs Martin read our poster and phoned our class to tell us that the bear belonged to her. Teddy was very happy to be returned to Mrs Martin. P2 will be sad to see him leave.
As part of our Bear topic, we learned lots of facts and information about bears. We then wrote our own information books. We went down to the Primary 7 classes to read them our information books and teach them about bears. It was a great experience! We all got lots of praise and a sticker.
A huge thank you to all our parents for supporting your child in the use of Mathletics at home. It is a fantastic programme designed to improve basic Maths Skills. In class the children love to compete with other children from Canada, England, Holland, America and South Africa!
We're Going On A Bear Hunt
During Literacy and Play, we have been planning a Bear Hunt. We chose the location, made props and performed actions to do on the hunt. We followed the bear paw prints and had lots of fun on our hunt. We found a bear in the cave!
Every Friday afternoon the Primary 6 children come to our class to read us stories. We love having them and we listen very well and answer lots of hard questions!
Our topic is bears. We are having lots of fun learning. We are using some excellent language in our Play and really engaging in the topic.
Houses and Homes
Our topic is great fun this term. We are building houses at construction and acting the drama of the 3 Little Pigs at Small World. We also planned, worked together and made houses from junk materials. We discussed the different types of houses and were presented with flats, a bungalow, a semi detached house and a detached house...as well as a magic fairy house!
Children in Need.
We had a non uniform day for Children in Need. We brought our donation in and gave it to Pudsey. After assembly, we played Pudsey games on the Interactive Whiteboard and made a Pudsey picture to take home. Our school raised lots of money!!!
We had lots of fun at Halloween. We carved a pumpkin and voted to call her.....GLITTER :) We also had lots of fun at our school disco and loved making chocolate apples.
Our Shared Education with our Primary 2 friends from Tullygally began on Thursday 12th October. We are learning that we can be different and still be friends. We enjoy spending time with our friends from Tullygally.
