Although Literacy and Numeracy activities have been assigned to specific days, these are only suggestions.  Please work at a pace which suits your child and your family circumstances. 

 

Most activities can be found within the home learning packs provided.  Links to additional learning resources/videos will be posted here on our class page and on Seesaw. Relevant interactive games and activities will be also available on Seesaw.

BBC LIVE Numeracy & Literacy Lessons:
  • BBC Live Numeracy Lesson 1 This pirate-themed Live Lesson sees CBBC’s Rhys Stephenson and Mr Smith from Bitesize Daily hunt for buried treasure, learning maths skills along the way. They count, compare and order numbers up to 20 and beyond 20, and learn about the greater than, less than and equals symbols.
  • BBC Live Numeracy Lesson 2 CBeebies presenter Rebecca Keatley and Mr Smith from Bitesize Daily go on an incredible journey up a beanstalk! Along the way they learn all about number bonds up to 100. This series of weekly Live Lessons for Autumn 2020, is designed to support children in catching up on literacy and numeracy as they return to school after lockdown.
  • BBC Live Literacy Lesson 1 In this Literacy Live Lesson for KS1/First Level, CBBC’s Rhys Stephenson and Mr Smith from Bitesize Daily explore the book Simon Sock by Paul Linnet and Sue Hendra. The book is read by Junior Bake Off winner and vlogger, Nikki Lilly. As well as guided reading of a fiction text, pupils will learn about and practise using capital letters, discuss what makes a good friend and write about their own hobbies.
  • BBC Live Literacy Lesson 2 This live lesson is all about poetry! After hearing poems from Michael Rosen’s A Great Big Cuddle collection, CBBC’s Rhys Stephenson and Mr Smith, from Bitesize Daily, learn about rhyming, adjectives and nouns. Pupils try creating a character and writing some verses about them, and learn about rhyming structure.
