We took advantage of the beautiful spring weather and sketched some daffodils around the office area.

Planting Sunflower Seeds

We had great fun planting sunflower seeds, chalking pictures of sunflowers and eating ice pops to cool down.

Our new topic is called ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ So far we are really enjoying learning about it. Watch this space as more photos will be added as the topic progresses.

Pirate Party

Our Pirate topic ended in style! We had a party, planned by P4. The chose a mixture of food from all the food groups. We danced and sang pirate shanty songs. Golden chocolate treasure was distributed at the end of a super day 🏴‍☠️

Colourful Clothing 👚🩳🧢🧤

We all came together and dressed in colourful clothing, helping to raise £280 for GoalLine Youth Charity.

Christmas Jumper Day/Christmas Dinner 🎅🏼

Talking Partners.

During Talking Partners sessions, the primary 4 children got to choose a window and talk about it. Mrs Parnham was very impressed by the language and description used. Well done boys and girls 👏🏻

We really enjoyed participating in the Santa Run Daily Mile in support of children’s mental health.

The Famous Five-Making Rockets

We are learning about Neil Armstrong and made designed and made our own rockets using recyclable materials. I think you will agree, a fantastic effort was made by all 🚀

NewsDesk

We are really enjoying NewsDesk. We love to read and comment on articles. This term we are working on creating our own articles for the School Reporter section. Children from all over Northern Ireland , with a C2K account can read and comment on our work.

Anti-Bullying Week 2021

The theme of Anti Bullying Week this year was One Kind Word. Our school marked it in a variety of ways. We wore odd socks to celebrate our uniqueness. We discussed kindness and brainstormed kind words. We designed an Anti Bullying poster and enjoyed watching our School Council Anti Bulling video.

Mathletics

Congratulations to our October Mathletics award winners. Our class finished 11th in the UK during Maths Week #proudteacher

Paddington’s 63rd Birthday 

Paddington celebrated his birthday in style in P4. The children made and posted cards, created a shopping list of party essentials, sang songs, danced, played games, wore hats and ate cake. What a special day. Happy birthday Paddington 🎉🎈🎁

Rock Painting

We really enjoyed painting rocks with colourful images and designs. We plan to use these rocks for very important purposes. More to follow…

Marmalade Sandwiches

As part of our ‘Paddington’s Passport’ topic, we completed some instructional writing during literacy. Of course we had to check our instructions were clear so we made and enjoyed marmalade sandwiches. Our special guest from Peru enjoyed some too 😋

Congratulations to our two class representatives who were elected by their peers to represent our class in the School Council

Macmillan Charity Day

We really enjoyed making buns for our special Friday treat. Proceeds were in aid of Macmillan and we were delighted to raise over £320. Thank you to everyone who contributed. 

PE- Fun and Fitness

International Dot Day

 

On 15th September, Primary 4 joined with 21 million others worldwide in celebrating ‘International Dot Day’ based on ‘The Dot’ by Peter Reynolds. We enjoyed making our mark, being creative and getting outdoors to learn and have fun.

ICT

We are enjoying our weekly visits to the ICT suite exploring NewsDesk, Mathletics, J2E and MySchool.
