Christmas Jumper and Dinner day
Everyone looked great in their Christmas jumpers. We enjoyed a yummy Christmas dinner and had a lovely hot chocolate treat in the afternoon.
Navan Centre Trip
We had a great day on our Christmas Outing to the Navan Cente in Armagh. We watched a short panto called ‘The Elf who stole Christmas’, had festive snacks, mad a Christmas craft and met Santa who gave us all a Christmas selection box.
Today we took part in the Santa Run Daily Mile with our festive accessories.
It was great fun and has got us all in the festive spirit.

Christmas has arrived in P1/2. We had fun decorating our tree and have been enjoying Christmas themed play activities. We practiced our writing skills from our important Santa letters and ar making sur we ar on our best behaviour for our elf Ed.
Preparing for Spring
It may be winter but we have started preparing for Spring by planting spring bulbs for our outside play area. We can’t wait to watch them grow in the spring next year.
Odd Socks Day
We wore our odd socks to celebrate Anti Bullying Week.
We talked about being kind and looking after each other and how important it is to remember that everyone is different and unique.
Halloween in P1/2
Our nursery rhyme this week is Incy Wincy Spider. We have been having lots of Halloween fun with themed play activities, a Halloween themed Debutots visit, a dress up day and a party. 🕸🎃
Little Jack Horner
We enjoyed guessing the fruit from this weeks rhyme…when we found out it was a plum we all tasted them and then completed a pictograms to show how many people did and didn’t like them. 💜
Autumn leaves are falling
We enjoyed an Autumn walk around the school grounds. We stopped to look at the apple trees and brought some back which the P1s used to make apple printing patterns.
We have also been painting Autumn trees to display in our classroom and investigating the things we found on our walk. We collected lots of sticks and have been wrapping them up in autumn coloured oil to keep them warm and cosy.
Girls IFA Football Workshop
The girls loved their IFA football workshop despite the rain.
It was tricky to get a photo of them as they were moving so fast and having so much fun.
Baa Baa Black Sheep
This weeks theme was sheep and we looked at the nursery rhymes ‘Little Bo Peep’ and ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’.
We made fluffy Pom Pom sheep and had a go at shearing our own shaving foam sheep. We learned about how wool is made and what things are made with wool.
Quiet Little mice
This weeks theme was mice and we looked at the nursery rhymes ‘Three Blind Mice’ and ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’.
We made mice to display in our classroom. We also made warm and cosy homes for our mice puppets.
Humpty and Friends
Our first topic is ‘Humpty and Friends’.
Each week we will be learning a new Nursery Rhyme and each week will have a different theme.
Week ones theme is Eggs and the rhyme is Humpty Dumpty.
We had great fun playing with eggs during play based learning. We decorated eggs and then had egg rolling races.
Our P2s also carried out an experiment by wrapping eggs in different materials and dropping them to see which broke and which didn’t.
Our first days in P1/2
We have all been enjoying getting to know our new classroom and making friends in our class.
