Debutots

We had a lovely time during our music and story session with Sarah from Debutots. We heard an Easter story about Kyle Kangaroo and all her friends.

Literacy

The children have been consolidating their phonic skills with carousel activities. They have been completing phonic jigsaws, improving their letter formation, finding initial sounds and using the iPads to explore Teach Your Monster to Read.

Merry Christmas from P1H/C

Goldilocks

We have been listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This week we made some porridge and sequenced the instructions on how to make it. Everyone had a bowl of porridge and though it was ’just right’.

Autumn

P1H/C have been enjoying Autumn and Halloween activities this week. We have been busy making spooky Halloween play dough, owls using crunchy autumn leaves and getting gooey in the water tray.

Pattern and Sorting

The children have been learning about pattern and sorting this term. We have been sorting for colour, shape and size using the sorting hoops. The children were also learning about different types of patterns and looking for patterns in their surroundings. We were able to make repeating patterns using colours, sizes and pictures.

 Nursery Rhymes

This term the children have been recapping and learning some new and familiar nursery rhymes. We have been sequencing, reciting, discussing and incorporating these into our Play Based Learning. Can you guess which nursery rhymes we’ve been learning from the activities below?

Learning, laughs and lots of fun!

P1H/C has got off to a wonderful start with the children getting to grips with the routines of the classroom. We have been thinking about nursery rhymes this week and the children have been painting some well known characters. The boys and girls have also been the learning how to match, sort and are recapping over colours. What a great start to the year!
