Halloween fun in P2

We have enjoyed our Halloween activities during play based learning. We carved a pumpkin and made chocolate apples and finished the week with a Halloween dress up day.

Good Relations Week

We met our Shared Education friends from Tullygally Primary School for a virtual session.

We talked about how to be a good friend.

We then drew pictures of what a good friend looks like and showed them to our friends on the screen.

We are looking forward to meeting our Tullygally friends in March.

Autumn leaves are falling

We enjoyed our Autumn walk around school finding Autumn treasures and our Autumn art during play based learning.

Little Jack Horner

We learnt the nursery rhyme Little Jack Horner.

We then used a feely bag to guess the mystery fruit and one person guessed it correct…it was a plum.

We then did a taste test to see who liked plums and recorded the results on a pictograms on the whiteboard.

European Day of Languages

We celebrated by sampling some French themed food for snack. 🇫🇷

Round and round the apple tree

We visited the apple trees in the school garden.

We brought some apples back to our class to eat and to practice our cutting skills during play based learning.

We also learned about the life cycle of an apple tree.

Healthy Snack

We provide a healthy snack for everyone each day.

We have a selection of fruit and toast, pancakes, ham and cheese wraps, crackers, brioche and yoghurts.

Humpty Dumpty Investigation

As part of our Humpty and Friends topic we looked at Humpty Dumpty and how we could protect an egg from cracking.

We used different materials and had to guess what would happen and record our guess and the result after we dropped each bag on the floor. 🥚🍳
