  • Sustrans Success

    Fri 28 Apr 2017

On Friday 28th April, we had Dave Wiggins from Sustrans visit our assembly. He thanked everyone who took part in the recent Big Pedal and encouraged all of us to continue travelling actively to school.

He then presented Jacob from P7 with a brand new scooter for his piece of writing on 'Whizzing' to school.

    Nice one Jacob- happy scooting!

  • Mid Ulster Spring Football Festival Champions

    Fri 07 Apr 2017

On Friday 7th April 2017, Drumgor hosted the Mid Ulster Schools Spring Football Festival. The boys' group included King's Park, Edenderry, Armstrong, Donacloney and Fairhill Primary School. After three wins and two draws, the boys progressed to the quarter finals, coming second to King's Park.

They then faced Hart Memorial in the quarters, winning 3-0. Progressing to the semi-final, they once again met King's Park. This time the boys were outstanding and won  2-0.

The final saw Drumgor face Mullavilly. An evenly matched game with excellent goalkeeping and defending from both teams meant that, even after extra time, the game was goalless. Shared winners.

Thank you parents and relatives who came out to support the boys.

On Tuesday 4th April, our P5-6 team entered the local Brownlow College 5 a-side competition. The boys and girls performed excellently and were just beaten on penalties in the final. Silver medals on the day.

On Thursday 30th March the rugby team competed in the Shelbourne Rugby Blitz tournament at Chambers Park, home of Portadown Rugby Club. The boys won 2 matches and lost 2 matches. They impressed coaches and referees alike with strong running and hard tackling. Well done lads.
  • STEM Day

    Wed 29 Mar 2017

On Wednesday 29 March, some of our P6 and 7s went to Armagh to compete in the K'Nex challenge. They had to design a bridge for their area, consider the design and make it as robust as possible.

Well done Ben and Caleb, whose bridge was judged as joint second in the whole competition.

  • Buddy's Big Workout

    Fri 24 Mar 2017

On Friday 24th March, each class took part in our sponsored activity, 'Buddy's Big Workout' to raise money for the NSPCC. We were led by the instructors from Healthy Kids, through a tough but really fun exercise workout.

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored a pupil for this activity.

  • Drumgor v Maralin

    Mon 06 Mar 2017
The boys hockey team travelled to Lurgan Junior High to face Maralin PS for their first away game of the season. The team put on a excellent display of hockey, showed great skill and displayed a fantastic team effort. Maralin took the lead early but Drumgor were undeterred and continued to play attacking hockey. Their hard work was rewarded with a goal from Charlie Givans at the end of the first half. Both teams continued, equally matched in the second with GK Dean Wells being called upon to make many needed saves but unfortunately Maralin slipped the ball through a tight defence leaving the final score 2-1 to Maralin. The team will play in the Mid Ulster Qualifiers tournament on Wed 8th March 1-2pm at Brownlow and would love your support!
  • World Book Day

    Tue 28 Feb 2017
On Tuesday 28th February we celebrated World Book Day (as we were closed on 2 March for the elections). We had lots of wonderful characters turning up to school from a range of books. Each pupil got a £1.00 book voucher and we were also entertained by Billy and Kathleen from Antrim Folk Tales. We loved their poems, stories and jokes. Happy World Book Day.
