    Fri 06 Nov 2015

  • Visit from Armagh Planetarium

    Mon 02 Nov 2015
On Monday 2nd November, we were visited by staff from the Armagh Planetarium. The key stage one and two children were treated to two fascinating workshops. One was on electricity. Some boys and girls acted as conductors, allowing electrical currents to pass through them to turn on and turn off light bulbs! The other activity was inside a dome. Inside this, the children were shown the planets of our solar system and the star constellations in the night sky.
  • Hallowe'en fancy dress

    Fri 23 Oct 2015

On Friday 23rd October, all the boys and girls came to school in fancy dress. It was great to see such an array of costumes, ranging from the quite scary to the very funny. During the whole school assembly Mr Flack reminded us that God looks inside our hearts, not at our outward appearance. He also gave out prizes for the book fair colouring-in competition.

We hope all of our pupils and their families have an enjoyable and a safe half-term break.

  • School Council introduced

    Thu 22 Oct 2015

In early October, each class from P4-P7 elected two representatives to the School Council. The votes were based on their manifestos, which outlined what they would do if they were elected. At the Council's first meeting, they elected the chairperson and deputy chairperson, the treasurer and the secretary.

On Thursday 15th October, Mr Flack welcomed the School Councillors in front of our assembly.

Well done to Morgan (Chairperson), Tylar (Deputy Chairperson), Daisie (Secretary), Charlie (Treasurer), as well as Dean, Lilian, Robbie, Tyler, Hollie, Alfie and Emma.

  • Hallowe'en safety assembly

    Thu 22 Oct 2015
On Thursday 22nd October- just before we got off for half-term- Constables Gary and Craig came into assembly to talk about keeping safe over the Hallowe'en period. We were shown how to use sparklers properly, we were shown what we aren't allowed to use, and we were told about being safe and sensible when 'trick or treating'. We all enjoyed listening to this important message.
  • Travelling Book Fair

    Mon 19 Oct 2015
From Monday 19th-Friday 23rd October we hosted our annual travelling book fair. All the boys and girls had the chance to explore the wide range of books on offer. Thank you to everyone who purchased something. A total of £571 was collected. Thanks also to Miss Gates for organising the event.

  • Sustrans Active Travel Day

    Fri 25 Sep 2015
As part of our school's new Active Travel Programme with Sustrans (see our policy in Key Information), we had an active travel day on 25th September 2015. Any pupil who came to school walking, cycling, or scooting (or combining these with a shorter car journey) got a raffle ticket. Parents who brought their children 'actively' also received a ticket each.

Dave Wiggins from Sustrans took that morning's assembly where the draw was made: 20 children and 1 parent received some fantastic prizes. See our Gallery for more photos.
