MONDAY
We arrived at Whitepark Bay Youth Hostel at 1pm, after a beautiful scenic drive along the Antrim Coast Road. After unloading our luggage we went to Portballintrae for a picnic lunch and then onto the Giant's Causeway where we heard many stories on our headsets. On Monday evening we went to the beach and had a bbq tea and then toasted marshmallows on an open fire. The evening finished with a paddle and beach games.
TUESDAY
We all made our own packed lunch whilst Jamie, Danny, Zack & James did the breakfast dishes! We got the 10am boat to Rathlin Island and then completed a treasure hunt, watching seals on the way. Following our picnic lunch we had a bus tour of the island with Bertie, our driver, stopping along the way to provide many interesting facts about Rathlin.
On Tuesday evening we went to McDonalds for tea and then some children went to Portstewart Strand, for a paddle & footie match, whilst everyone else watched 'Malificent' in 3D at the Jet Centre. The evening ended with Mr Flack's favourite game - Floppy Bunnies!
WEDNESDAY
Our surfing lesson was great craic with many children able to ride the waves standing up on their boards. We then had a picnic at Magheracross before walking across Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and then we visited the tiny church in Portbradden. After tea we went Ten Pin Bowling. Well done to Zack for getting the best score. The evening finished with a 'Drumgor's Got Talent' show.
THURSDAY (8.10am)
Everyone was packed and ready for breakfast before we sadly left Whitepark Bay, but then headedto Barry's where 'The Experience, The Freak Out and Big Dipper proved to be our favourites. We then ate our packed lunch on Portrush West Strand and Tom kindly bought everyone an ice cream. on our way home we visited the 'Dark Hedges' before arriving back in school, tired but happy!
A huge THANK YOU to all our P7 pupils and staff for being so helpful and making this trip so memorable.
Mr Flack
The P6 Class had an exciting and busy time on their trip to Shannaghmore Residential Centre. On Monday they arrived and got settled in before heading to Castlewellan Lake for some canoeing. They then spent the evening on a lovely beach walk at Murlough Beach, where they were able to watch some seals. On Tuesday they were up bright and early to go bouldering, and then orienteering in Castlewellan in the afternoon. The day ended by walking the nightline and enjoying some games. On Wednesday morning they all enjoyed the Centre's new High Ropes Course before heading back home for a well earned rest! A great time was had by all.

The rugby team travelled to the Mid Ulster Arena, Cookstown to take part in a rugby blitz organised by Ulster Branch Rugby. Drumgor was one of only 14 teams invited. At the blitz the children got photographs taken with the Six Nations Trophy, won by Ireland this season.
The children really enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters as part of our World Book day activities. Each class got to participate in a storytelling session and received their £1 Book token.
Many pupils entered the Mother's Day competition organised by Tesco's. They had to write about why their mum was so special. The overall winner received a £50 gift voucher for their mum and they each received an Easter Egg. Well done to James, Jessica, Brea and Jamie! If you are in the local store you will be able to see a selection of our entries.
